I'm missing the same thing on my '77 550K. Wonder if anybody has an extra kicking around... Until then, I was looking at my buddy's dirt bike and it has the return spring on the brake rod near the front connected to the frame. I think as a temporary (or maybe permanent) fix I'll rig it up like that.
