Question about grips
« on: August 09, 2008, 10:14:57 AM »
Well, after owning my first bike for a month, I got my first taste of wet riding.  Had to go 22 kms to get to work along a fairly windy hwy.  needless to say i dumped the bike going around a corner.  I was gonna replace the bars and grips over the winter but now i HAVE to do it.  I've been lookin around and found a cheap set but there is 2 lengths. 5 3/4" and 5 3/8"   does the length matter? I'm a newb when it comes to bikes but as long as it fits the 7/8" bar the length shound't really matter. I also snapped a front turn signal mount and lost a mirror.

You may want to measure the length of your throttle tube and then puchase grips slightly shorter. you don't want the grips catching on the cable/switch housing.
