74 cb450 twin head studs
« on: September 07, 2005, 08:23:03 AM »
question, one of the cylinder head studs is broke in half on this bike. the stud is mounted into the top of the lower engine case then you stake the heads on it and tighten the nuts. how do these studs mount into the engine case? I do not see any threads showing where the studs come out of the engine case and I can not turn them  in either direction. I need to get the broken one out so I can replace it. Does any one know how to remove them?
Thanks.

They are screwed in. use a set of vise grips and gently heat the aluminium casing
