1972 CB750 Shifting issue
« on: August 10, 2008, 02:58:12 PM »
I just bought a sweet 1972 cb750. If I don't shift hard, sometimes it pops out of gear as I gun it a bit. Any help is appreciated. Thanks  ???

Change the oil and let us know whats up.. the clutch is a wet clutch system and uses the engine oil.  You can search the forums for the best suggestion which if you look has been a rather hotly debated topic.

I'll toss my vote in for now... Rotella 15w-40 for Diesels, use good old dino oil, not synth...  too many lubricants in synth and the clutch has trouble grabbing (in some cases.... some people swear by it.)

Anyway, try the oil change, maybe it will help, maybe it wont....   just my thoughts, and im a complete novice.
