hey there everyone - trying to decide what to powedercoat black when i send the frame out so i can have everything done at the same time. thinking about the frame, triple trees, wheels, hubs, and lower fork tubes all done in black, then painting silver. anyone have a pic that fits the bill (even if it's a different color, or photoshop)?

trying to see whether i want to just do the frame and triples black, and keep the wheels, forks, etc. silver.

thanks!

I think I meet all the requirements:

This was before I did the wheels:

Black powdercoated alloy GL1000 rims.  Black shock springs and rear fender.  Shiny pipes, engine, front fender and fork lowers.  Proper paint job on the tank to be determined. . . .Kind of wish I had powdercoated the hubs black as I really like the look of the stainless steel spoke heads making contrasting dots along the perimeter of the of the hubs.  Looking nice tsflstb!

tsflstb - when you had everything powdercoated, what color/mix of gloss, etc. did you use? that looks great.

It's a gloss black.  Before I laced the wheels I put about 6 coats of wax on the hubs and rims so they'd be easier to clean later.  The fork lowers I painted myself with black "appliance epoxy" from Home Depot.  It's a pretty tough paint that you can lay on thick.  It looks just like powdercoat unless you get down and really stare at it.

Wheels and forks rattle caned with DupliColor engine paints over self etching primer, top coated with a special DupliColor wheel clear coat that had a nice matting effect and has proven to be tough and resistant to brakeclean, brake fluid, gas, and fork oil.
Frame is rattlecan "universal black" in gloss

Is that Line-X on the tank and seat?  What's the texture like?  Did it add a lot of weight?

My plan is simple-if it's not chrome, it'll be black 8)

Any pix of black hub/spokes on chrome rims? My chrome is decent but the spokes are dingey.

tsflstb, are those excel rims, or the stock rims you had just recolored? They look fantastic.

They're shouldered Excel rims - a little wider than stock.  Thanks.
