Greetings from Maine
« on: August 09, 2008, 09:02:34 AM »
Greetings all,
I just acquired an 1982 CB650... not running... yet ;).
Looking forward to becoming acquainted with the pros on this site.
I've done lots of tinkering before, am pretty good with mild customizing, + basic bike electronics, but I'm looking at a pretty comprehensive rebuild here...
The carbs will need rebuilding (I've never actually seen the inside of one, my VTX1800 is fuel injected), and it needs a new tank, new chain, new tires... etc...
I've been lurking for a little while, but now have joined and will be around here a bit!

Welcome. As you're already somewhat familiar with this site you'll have realised it's one of the most useful sites around with lot of folks more than willing to impart their knowledge, experience and expertise.
Oh yeah, before I forget, as a new member, remember these 3 words; pics, pics, pics.

We LOVE pics here.

Enjoy.

Welcome from NY. There is a member here considering a move to Maine. Maybe you can give him some advice and information. he in turn can share some CB wisdom with you.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm in Portland, ME.  There are a few folks from New England that get together for rides occasionally.... check out the New England Honda Guys ---> http://nehondaguys.info/forums/index.php

The next event we're going to is Owls Head!

Where in Maine are you?
You can't make too much popcorn, but you can definately eat too much popcorn.

There is a big vintage motorcycle rally at Owls Head on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. A bunch of us from here (and the New England Forum) will be going. Hope to see you there! Look out for an orange CB750K2!!

Cheers
