CL175 carbs
« on: August 11, 2008, 10:32:20 PM »
As my several year 750k3 project is nearing completion (yeah, there'll be photos) I am already setting my sights on the next: a '68 CL175. The carbs are pretty shot. After cleaning (and cleaning and cleaning) pitting revealed itself in the float chamber and venturi. They leak gas although I'm relatively sure the floats aren't sticking, and positive they're the right height and the overflow tubes on the bowls aren't cracked. Here's the question- Will later years work and what the hell are power jets for anyway? Should I continue to look for year specific? What kind of trouble will I run into fitting a carb from, say, a 200T? Could I go nuts and use CV carbs from a 350? ALL opinion and help appreiciated.

You need to talk to Steve (Sixtysixsprint) over at the 450 forum.
Steve is the King of 175's I'll bet he can set you up. He has a 90mph 175.
The CB200 carb is slightly different - not to say it wouldn't work.
