I now have a reason to excuse your occasional crankiness TT   ;D

I need and excuse?  I thought it was just part of my charm? ;D

I suppose it's an acquired taste. :-\

thanks for all the info. I think ill go to my local junk yard and try and find a K top end. I know he has a 78f parts bike and wants 300 for the engine but who knows what condition its in and most likely has the same problem as mine. I also saw a 78K engine being parted out on FeeBay

So i did some looking around. Dynoman http://www.dynoman.net/bikepages/F2/index.html  seems to have the valves and guides for the F. If i replace these am i looking at a 75000 mile engine or another 16000?

I just read TT's post in FF's thread. Man, if there's a member that needs some prayer, we should keep TT in mind:

Sorry, I can't do this job.  Doctor says I have Bursitis in the hip.  I'm lucky to get out of bed these days.  Sitting in a chair is painful.  Walking/standing is something to reminisce about.  I just hope I don't have anymore emergency room visits.

Cheers,

After all the help he's been to me, it pains me just to read it.

Edit: Ooooops, I just realized that I accidentally cross posted this here. Sorry for the cross post.

That's what I was thinking when I posted. It's a tremendous act of generosity to be so helpful as he; when I first read the post you cited my heart went out to him. To think someone in that much discomfort could still have the drive to help other people.
