In the next few days, I'll be collecting my engine cases which will have been chemically stripped. So the next job on my agenda will be to paint the bare cases with heatproof paint.
Knowing that the paint is more durable once it's been cured, I want to cure it before I reassemble the engine. Short of putting the painted parts into the oven - which ain't gonna happen - I'm looking for advice as to the best way to acomplish the task.
Anyone know how PJ1 reacts to heat from a heat gun? I'm considering heating the dry cases, then painting them, then applying heat from a heat gun in the hope that it a) won't buckle/bend/queer the cases and b) will at least part cure the paint.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Neil
