oh, not giving up... :o just taking a bit of a break while I pay for school... school comes first, no matter what.
Will check in on the full kits from DK and needles from Z1.  Bike is a 1980 CB650c.  The 'seat' is the brass seat so I don't know that the brass can wear from the rubber end of the needle or not.  I should probably go with the full rebuild kit, anyway, as when doing my cleanup, I really just replaced the gaskets.  So I guess we'll see.   ::)

Its really not the seat that wears as much as the tip of the needle. People on the cheap try to relap the needles into the seats but that really is more of a PITA than just buying new ones. I will agree with ya....school first...then the bike!!! Good luck with both!!! ;)

I had same problem Kits, my 650 lost more gas than it burned in the motor.
I got a set of 4 float valves (I presume that is what you mean by needle valves) for $46 kiwi so thats about $30 to you rich Yanks. ;D
I doubt mine were genuine Honda parts as they came in half a folded envelope and a small deal bag ha ha.but they work and my carbs don't leak.
The great thing is on our 650's the carbs are quite servicable while still on the bike but they peed me off enough to replace the 12 wee crosshead screws with hex nuts (allen key screws) and now dropping the bowls is not a hassle.
Best of luck Kits.........oh yeah where the heck is Beavertown anyway? ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

I'm having a really rough time finding an aftermarket kit for the '79-80 carbs... has anyone had any luck, or do I have to order from my local stealership?
