Netural stopper bolt
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:31:10 PM »
Where is the neutral stopper bolt??  The Honda Shop Manual, the Clymer's, and the Haynes all tell me that once I remove the "neutral stopper bolt" the gear selector drum will just slide right out, and naturally none of them includes a picture or a description as to where this bolt is.   On the ouside bottom of the I see a bolt and a little tiny screw right next to it that look like they go to where the neutral stopper would have to be go get in the little divet on the drum when it's down there.  I removed both the bolt and the screw and still my drum will not come out.

Could someone a bit more knowledge than myself please enlighten me?

Item #26:

The bolt you spotted is #31, it holds down a little metal clamp bracket (#27) which holds the neutral stopper bolt in place.  The screw you spotted screws into the center of the neutral stopper bolt and is where you hook up the neutral lead.

Mystic_1 you are the man!!!

I didn't even realize that the big thing next to the bolt was in fact the "neutral stopper bolt" and could be pulled out with a pliers.  Thanks for posting the pic!
