K0 gauge jewels...
« on: August 12, 2008, 10:51:24 PM »
Hey, I'm in a bit of a bind in regards to my gauges on my K0; the gauges on my project bike are in pretty decent shape, but the jewels seem to have fallen into the gauges a tiny bit (1/8 in. maybe) has anyone come up with a way to disassemble them and fix this problem?

Seem too little "fall" to me. You sure it is not the way they should be? Pictures?

I recently redid my guage faces. This is the method I used. It worked great.

Those links will be very helpful, thanks. I think they're a bit closer to 1/2" below the faces, here's a blurry pic.

Yes, 1/2" is to much.  Here are mine that I restored last winter.  Pretty close to flush with the face.  Don't be afraid to break off that black plastic ring on the bottom.  Then the unit will slide right out with some turning and pulling.  Check out that search as there is a good thread on the subject for these units.  Best of luck to you.
