My speedometer ate itself.
« on: August 13, 2008, 05:15:43 PM »
My speedometer started making a whirring sound so I lubed up what I could. My back light went out so I did not really get to see it happen but after a night of riding the morning sun revealed this.

I must have been going too fast ;)

Anyways there is not too much I can really do about it now but I was wondering what in the speedo most likely caused it. Just out of curiosity.

Wow that thing really barfed.  Were you going 88 MPH by any chance?  I thought your ignition was missing, but on second glance that looks like a cigarette lighter! HA!

Looks like the left side screw fell out.

At warp 7 this always happens, ask Scotty.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

For a while I wanted to do that but have yet to figure out how to make it work. I can use it to complete the circut but obv. it heats up and pops out when powered. I am sure there is a solution I just have not thought about it hard enough yet. Might work as a stater switch however. Anyone know how to make it work as my key?

But you do cables. :)

I wish I could take a picture of it as it is now, the actual face is now cracked across the middle and the bottom of the face has been worn through from something on the in side and everything is covered in dust. I think its trying to escape!
