Hi All
« on: August 15, 2008, 10:19:54 AM »
My name is Neil. My user name Grizzly is my wife's idea and is a lie. I have a 750 K7 and I live in the North East of England. Up here we are called Smoggies because of the alleged air pollution, this is of course not true!!!

I bought this bike in 1991 off a lad up the road. It was a non runner due to the wiring loom being past it's best. It had a K7 frame and engine but was a real bitsa fitted with many parts from other Honda 750's. Such as comstar wheels and forks, blue F2 fuel tank, F1 side panels of which the n/s was held on with cable ties because the mountings did not line up, F series swingarm. I could go on but you get the picture.

Anyway I tarted the bike up a bit and ran it for a few years. I don't know how many miles the bike has done altogether but I have done about 15000mls.

I have been collecting new parts for years and in May of this year the K7 was back on the road in standard trim after being in pieces for the best part of 5 years.

There have been a few teething problems! Only one more to cure, but that front brake caliper is a real pain!!!!!!!!

First pic shows the state of the bike, note SuperDream indicators. Second picture shows what a bit of TLC can do and the last picture shows what the K7 lookslike today.

Cheers

Welcome neil.
Call me sad, but I seem to be spending more and more eveinings here at the forum yarning with the lads from all over the world, and less time down at the pub. It's cheaper this way and the friends I've made here seem to be genuine.
Enjoy and post loads of pics.

Hi

Thanx for the warm welcome lads.

I think the tank is dead Andy. When leaded fuel became hard to get here I started using unleaded. The bike ran fine on this but the inside started to rust through and leak. My tank looks a bit of a mess now but only on the bottom. I have been told this is quite common. Though its the first and only time it's happened to me.
Rhos I might have found a solution to the pub/beer/cost vs computer problem. HOME BREW!! I make my own. Costs about 20-30 pence a pint and you get about 40 pints per brew. Might be a bit sad I suppose drinking alone at the computer but I don't care. Anyway I take it in the workshop with me. Work on a bike or polish one listen to Bon Jovi. A couple of the lads might call round and we have a few more beers and talk bikes.
While having a few beers try polishing your bike. Next day go and have a look at it and I bet you have missed loads. Is there a lesson their?
Will post more pics. Where is the best place to post them, in the gallery?

Cheers

G`day grizzly
Welcome to the madness, I hear what your saying on the homebrew, i had my brew setup and i filled kegs instead of bottles, kinda dangerous though, you never know how many you`ve had lol but its easier to "mislead" the wife because theres no dead soldiers to give away how many you`ve had ;)

Top of the mornin Troppo

Kegs!! what a damn fine idea. I'm gonna need two though, one for the house one for the workshop.

Must make sure "she that must be obeyed" is not with me when I get em.

Thanks mate
