CB400A pistons stuck HALP!!!
« on: August 27, 2008, 09:16:56 AM »
So last night I pulled the engine for my 78 CB400A 'Hondamatic' out from under the workbench (now that there's a place for it). I had already tore down most of the top half but had problems with the cylinders. Well last night I finally broke the cylinders loose from teh case but now I can't remove them  :-\ It appears that the pistons are stuck inside the cylinders (may be the piston sleeves). Any thoughts on how I might be able to get the cylinder off? Thanks in advance.

Any suggestions on a search string? All mine are coming up with nothing useful  :(

Hi Captain, yup you're right; I had to think of every description regarding stuck pistons and very little came up. But I was sure that I'd seen numerous threads like yours. So finally, when my brains got into the proper gear I tried "seized engine" and hey presto 5 pages of propmpts came up! Good luck.
