hello
« on: August 15, 2008, 09:23:58 PM »
Hi, i am from muskegon mi. I have a cb500f which i am rebuilding and making a cafe bike out of, and i have a cb360t and a cb350f. I have been reading a bit on the forum and have seen quite a bit of usefull info. So i thought i would join. I am an ase certified mechanic at a dealership. This is my third bike since i got into bikes about two months ago. I really like my other two but i really am in love with the 500f. I  bought it for $100 with a seized motor and brakes. I recently tore the motor down and bought a bigger bore kit (which i am nervous about the quality). I also have a kerker 4 to 1 header and a few other goodies but nothein major at the moment. I don't have any pics of any of the bikes yet, but will get some if anyone is intrested.

tear down etc.

she was in good shape so i just went through the wiring and made sure it was good and rebuilt the carbs and cleaned everything up real good. chrome cleaned up really good. I didn't tear it down real far. Just swaped a few cool parts on it and got it running and rode it. Also had to rebuild the brakes new lines and caliper seal and master cylinder kit
she kinda looked like this once i got to ride it

Here some not great pics but you can kinda see the mine and my buddy's 360 bobber.

im the goofy guy with the short red hair

I also lowered the bike and put a bolt on hard tail the i wound up replacing with some adjustable nitro resevior shocks. I also put a new fatter front and rear tires, and some clubman bars. Like i said nothing to serious i just wanted to ride it and i still do everyday while i rebuild the 500 which i can't wait to get done.
I will get pics of the tore down 500f in a couple days
