On the Road
« on: August 16, 2008, 02:15:15 PM »
Just spent 5 days (2 would have been enough) in and around Camden, Maine.
Lots of bikes on the road----90% Harleys.

This '78 750 had a Kerker and pods and the key in the ignition.

The life.

Did you see any of the Maine state bird, the BlackFly?

You know I saw a bike with a sidecar the other day in Clarksville, TN.  I had never seen one on the road before and it was gone before I could ID the bike.

What kinda bike is hooked up to the sidecar?  Is it a jap cruiser?

Harley all the way.
Might even be a new Harley sidecar, but it's in the old style.

The wife and I just returned from a week in the U.P. About 20 mi. from the cottage, on the way up, we stopped at Settler's Co-op to pick up groceries to take to the lake. Just so happens there was a charity run going on and about 125 bikes were at Settler's with a State Police escort. Most Harleys, but not all. I snapped a couple of pictures just as they were getting ready to leave. I'll post it when I develop them, sorry, black and white though that's all I took up with me this year, getting back into film/darkroom work, etc. and the wife's digicam was packed in the back of the car. :-\

We have been going up to the U.P. for years and never did we see as many bikes as we did this year. I mean LOTS of them. All we could figure was the price of gas. The majority were couples and I'm guessing they wanted to travel, but gas costs would be lower on a bike. Again, mostly Harleys but many Beemers and Kaws also.

We're both suffering from troll syndrome right now. ;D
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
