Check out Randaak Cycle Shak.. Weber conversion for Goldwings.

Very interesting article they have on their manifolds they sell. They sell the manifolds and a 50 page instruction manual..

Anyway on their site they have pics and dyno results of this conversion.

 This is what they got,

13.8 % increase in HP

6.2 % increase in Torque

and this I really like.. .4 second reduction in 60 -80 mph roll on!

 Sounds like fun conversion and looks pretty cool too..

I've emailed Mr Randaak on a few occasions, picking his brain about tweaks to the GL1000 front end on my 78K.  He seems like a good guy who is always willing to help.  His website is incredibly detailed from restoration / maintenance info, to performance and upgrades.  Good to see that he backs up his carb conversion with actual numbers.  Those motors have the potential to be seriously powerful!

That is a pretty healthy increase for just carbs, I was thinking..

 Is there much stuff out there for them, like cams?

From what i learned when i was researching the wings was that there was also a supercharger kit for them at one point...actually i think Randaak was prototyping a kit on his site at one point.

This bike is part of the reason I want to build a plain and simple (and slick) GL1000, minus the supercharger.

Naked wings look so good.  It's too bad they have such a high resale, I'd love to pick one up.  Around here a 70's wing still picks up at least $1500

i picked up a 76 wing on feebay for $500 about 6 months ago. needed front brakes rebuilt, clutch shaft seal, carbs rebuilt and a fan temp switch.  it has a few littl oil leaks but the engines gotta be pulled for those and thats not gonna happen just for those. its a huge difference when i jump to that from my 550.  i really like it except hes got the vetter fairing on it. still a nice bike though.

 We(me and my brother) are in the process of doing this(webers and intakes) on a GL1000 1976,beside that we have install dyna coils and the transistorized ignition from hondaman,and VTR 1000 exhaust,electric fuel pump,cafe racer fairing,solo seat from corbin,brembo master cylinder(front) stainless steel brake line,fuel pressure gauge,voltmeter gauge,oil pressure gauge,aluminum handle bar(from a honda cr)white gauges,L.E.D everywhere!, and an awesome paint(will post pics when finish)next years...a lot of chrome

We would like to know if it's possible to buy some cams...any link???

sounds nice. definately would like to see some pics.i think i will be, um,....borrowing my dads wing because i dont think he will be riding much. he works to much
