Hello! New here. Have a 1970 CB750 that needs attention
« on: August 15, 2008, 08:53:24 AM »

I was talking to my dad the other day and remembered that he still had an old Honda 750. So I had him take a picture and send it to me.

I currently ride a SV650

Here is the picture of my dad's bike;

We are contemplating selling it and came here for some advise, and information such as value.

Here is a link to a larger image if you want a better look.

It looks to be in great shape and only needs a little care to get it back on the road. Would need new tires, fluids changed, maybe hoses. It is in Utah which is a very dry climate so rust should be minimal. It only has 29540 miles on it too.

How long has it been parked? Clean fuel tank,filter & carbs come to mind....you already mentioned tires.....Battery. I would  do an oil/filter change. That bike in butt stock condition would fetch some good coin but won't go as well with its mods (fairing,exhaust system,etc.) It might be worth a bit of your time to put it back to stock....I think you would get more for it.

I'm with MR Breeze on this one.  Tune her up, replace necessary items, and return it to stock with a set of nos pipes and headlight/fork ears/turn signals.

Hi from England

That's a real nice bike!

For what it's worth my opinion is go with uncrash and mrbreeze.

If you put it back to standard the bike will look that good that you might not want to move it on. I know I would'nt.

Cheers

I agree with the rest of the group.  Keeping it original will cost some money.  OEM exhaust if that is what you want will run you $1,200.  An original duckbill seat is expensive too.  But you can always go with aftermarket stuff if you just want to just ride it.  Take that fairing off and it will look much nicer, my personal opinion.  ;D  Not sure if you have the original blinkler studs under that fairing but that could be another issue.  Just a side note, the side covers look original, but the emblems are not.  I just finished my 1970 CB750KO restoration in May.  Click on the pic to enlarge it if you want a better look.  Good luck with your bike it looks like a keeper if you are into this sort of thing... ;)
