Carb felt?
« on: August 17, 2008, 06:47:44 PM »
Hi there,

I'm new to the forum but have had my 78 750k for a couple of years.  When I got the bike it had pre 76 carbs on it.  But it started up and ran.  I'm currently rebuilding a set of 78 carbs fro fleay-bay.  When I took them a part it looked liked there was some sort of felt wrapped around the choke shaft.  Is anybody familiar with this and do you know what to replace it with?

I'd appreciate any help you folks can offer.

Thanks,
Kyle

I just finished rebuilding my K8 carbs. That felt is around the choke shaft as well as the top throttle shaft. All I did with it was put a bit of silicon on them, not much else. Mine were in good shape. I tried pulling them out before dipping the carb body, but it was most likely going to ruin them. So I left them in and dipped them, and had no problems.
