CB750K5 front sprocket?
« on: August 18, 2008, 09:18:30 AM »
Even after looking through all the useful information about sprockets on here, I'm still a bit confused as to how to proceed with my cafe project.  I've got a 1975 CB750K.  When I bought it it needed a new rear wheel, and the one I ordered came with a 37 tooth rear sprocket.  A 15t front sprocket is on the bike now, and the PO gave me a EK530H chain.  This fits around the rear sprocket but not on the front, which means I can't thread the chain through up there.

Naturally, I'd rather just replace the front sprocket if I can get a workable configuration out of this.  I'm not looking to do anything fancy, just get something in place so I can finally take the damn thing for a ride.  In fact, having read in tech forum that going up a couple teeth in front can cut down on RPMs on the highway, I'm inclined to do that even if it means a bit less power.

I was thinking of this sprocket on eBay as an option:

If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated.

Best, Jake
