450 TWIN CAFE GETTING STARTED
« on: August 11, 2008, 07:53:17 PM »
Just got started on this 450 for the little lady. Right now it's in the mock up stage, bunch of Frankenstein parts. Using a VSL6 seat from air tech, 750 SS tank right now but i am waiting for a Royal Enfield cafe tank from air tech. once the tank and seat are mounted i can tear down and send everything to paint and power coat. Today i took apart the gauges to take to chrome. i will post some progress pics. Does any one know what size jets if any i need to use for the carbs? even though i am using the side covers i don't think i want to use the stock air cleaner. Thanks

Okay now, I've got to get things taken care of, so I won't be letting bikes like this 450 pass by and me miss it! I'm sure wanting to see more on THIS one! I'd been kinda wanting one of those 750 gas tanks myself. 8) Keep us posted on this one, please! ;)

Don't see many 450's.  I'm wondering how that engine compares to the Black Bomber's;  looks very similar.  Any input, Illbikes?

new update. got the royal edenfield tank mounted. i made the mount but i have to give design credit to member jinx racing.  i would like to know what you all think about the seat. I'm not sure if it looks to big compared to the tank or not. all takes welcome

To me, the seat hump looks just a bit too big but it's very close.  You could probably do something with the paint scheme to even it out visually.  I wouldn't worry about it.  You might try getting a few pictures with a rider in there and see what you think then.

About the only thing i would change about the seat is maybe reshape where it meets the tank. so it comes down to the same width as the tank and im shure it would flow with the lines of the side cover that way as well.

I think the seat is too square for the style of build you're going for. A seat with a more rounded profile would better match the back curve of the tank. Maybe something like a Ducati seat?  ;D
