Maybe everybody knows this, but I found a nice read over at the Honda Italy website, produced to mark the 30 year anniversary in 1999:

Airbag? I sometimes have an "old Bag" that rides on the back to protect me back. Bet it works as well as the bag on the GoldWing.

Looking at the pics on the Italian site of the new bikes makes me realize how
simple the 750K's were.  Somehow I think the "tech" forum for these new bikes
would have to be somewhat expanded.   And we think carbs and brakes are
hard to work on. An entire forum could be taken up with just removing all
that plastic.

simple the 750K's were.

Well, the best thing are the press releases on the technical improvements of the CBR900RR Fireblade: Honda goes on and on about how cool it is to have double, concentric valve springs to pervent valve floating at high RPMs.

Last time I checked, my '76 550F had the same hack.
Last time I checked, Honda made a big improvement with the torsion bar actuated valves in the DOHC 450's for exactly this purpose.
