Yeah Heff, someone ran my 60+ year old uncle off the road at the beginning of July on the trip I couldn't make because of my hand.  He ended up heading back home, so the whole trip ended up a bust. 

A guy merged over into my lane on the highway edging me out and over to the white line while the guy that was riding my behind backed off enough to let me fall back in.  I didn't honk or do anything because the guy was oblivious and would have just thought I was an #$%*.  Maybe it left some impression on the folks that did see it.

People are just nuts out there.  I make frequent trips to Atlanta and it's just mayhem on the roads.  I don't see how they drive with their heads up their a$$es.  (Cartoon to follow...?)

Good to hear your okay but man what a scary story.  I hope you sue the kid for everything he's got and everything he will make in the future. 

I definitely vote for the rebuild it deserves it and so do you!!! Hope you get to feelin better soon and maybe have a little more physic abilities now.

First the left leg;  wore a cast for 9 months.
Much later, the right leg;  wore an external fixator for 9 months, only this time the doc kept wanting to take my foot off.  I kept telling him to sit down and hang on.

Funny how through every thing that happens, my first response is to look for the bike and see how it is.

+1 if its totaled make his insurance pays for it then buy it back from them and use the spare parts to add to a new/old bike, and like firecracker said get back on.

   That sucks about your bike someday.  I swear, everytime I see some kid babbling on their cell and driving stupidly I just shake my head.  I believe in England they've made it illegal to talk on the cell and drive at the same time, unless you have a hands free device.  I'm all for it over here.

You may or may not be able to buy another bike with the insurance settlement, especially with the recent trend in motorcycle sales prices

I agree that the insurance company might total your bike. If they do, buy it back, if your state allows it. Re-build that beast and get back on it!
         Who else out there thinks that getting a drivers license for a car should include MANDATORY motorcycle training/ education as part of the written test for alldrivers?
