this sites great
« on: August 22, 2008, 11:49:22 AM »
hi, just joined. i'm putting my cb550 back on the road after sitting in my basement for 15 years. right now i have a 2001 zx12r, very fast but not a back road, fire roads bike. i always had a soft spot for the 550, after getting it running, my first ride on the cb550 after 10 years i realized why, it's easy to ride, it does everything very well, (My zx12r is like work to ride compared to the 550) i liked my 550 but wanted something faster so i picked up a 72 cb750, (still have it in the basement), and except for the power of the 750, i liked the the 550 better, it's a very well rounded bike. now i'm dealing with all the problems from sitting so long, frozen front caliper, rough idle, points (forgot about them) , but i got it going and i'm falling in love with the 550 again!

Welcome. That's a cool story about dredging up your old bike. If I store anything that long, there's no chance that I'll ever go back to it. ;-)
