Part of the garage after I "Restored" it this past Winter. It was a complete sheet hole with my Stepson running a race car out of it. No organization, just garbage everywhere. Their idea of cleaning up  was to sweep everything into one oily pile of Speed Dry and leave it there. During the beginning clean up stage my Wife saw me throwing out a half empty bag of Speedy Dry and thought I should save it as that was what the floor was usually made of. "This shop won't need any Speedy Dry" was my reply. She now has her own section with stuff for her garden and loves the new look. It is still a job to make the boys understand that this is a, "No Dump" zone. You got something coming in here, put it where it belongs.

Looking good,  "clean shop=clean mind".  Nice quality lift you have...Larry

Whoa, I thought we were posting pics of shops. This looks like a surgical suite.  ;)

Just kidding. Wow, nice work environment there.

I re-read my post and it sounded a bit biatchy, so I should apologise. I do like przjohn's shop, it just needs some bikes and cars in there. I'd love to have a shop as clean as that, maybe beside my cluttered garage so I can wheel my bikes in and out to work on them. I'd just need to hire someone to clean it again afterwards........... ;D

I'm thinking that "I" beam is missing a chain hoist! :D

Tonight I had a brain storm when we were thinking about this problem.  There are sticks of oil field pipe that were set in the concrete at each corner of the overhead door to protect the building from any  car that might be about to bump the building., My suggestion was to put a yard arm of larger pole slipped over what is there with a hoist- all above the tall door. It could swing, or be a cross bar between the posts.

It goes by management soon. Pics  if 'n' when happens.

It must be nice to be able to see the shop floor.  Maybe I'll be able to experience that some day.

I've posted photos of my shop before but have remodeled it since, will post photos later but I bought this set of Husky sockets and wrenches at an auction this morning for $30.  Really did not need them as I have three large tool boxes full of Snap On and Mac but I love the fact I can see the size without auxiliary light or glasses.

Yeah, I find that an important consideration these days as well..... :(
I bought a set of deep sockets from HF that are anodized different colors but it doesn't help
because my memory is getting as bad as my eyesight!
I just keep installing more lights in the shop.... ::)

John what brand of lift is that?  My old roommate's bf had one just like it and I used it a couple of times, it was awesome.  It made working on the bike so much easier.

What is cool is the letters are gold on the anodized black so they are very visible(for some reason 68 year old eyes don't work as well as they used too) so I will probably start using them more than my Snap On and Mac...Larry

Never enough space, but thankful for it. This is where I keep my hands busy and useable. Nice to be able to work unsupervised, and whenever/however I want. :)

Most of our shops would look spacious and well, not that clean  but pretty clean if we had no bikes or bike parts in it.
This place is fantastic, don't get me wrong. I'd like to see the time laps photos to how it looks this morning with bikes and parts in it....

Time to bump up this thread! ;D
I've spent the last month or so making space for and moving my buddy Henry's old Bridgeport mill into it's new home in my shop. I doubt this end of the shop has been this clean in years, and it likely won't stay this clean for very long. ;)
I also acquired the missing torch and foot-pedal for his Lincoln 300+ amp tig welder, but I don't have the space or power required for the monster, so it will be set up at a friend's place so we can both use it.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
