Beautiful work Scott, that looks great! My cuz bought one just like that from a Harley shop a year or so ago, he paid $5K for it which I think was a bit too much, but unless you want Chinese, there's not much around, especially with a single phase motor. Still, I won't complain, whenever I get a big job that won't fit on my mill/drill, I'll pay him a visit! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Henry bought the mill about 30 years ago for the princely sum of $500. :o It has a tag with a date of 1958, and came with a 3 phase motor. He fabbed up mounts for a 1&1/2 HP single phase motor, and even ran it with a 2700 watt Honda generator at my cabin in the boonies. 8)

I'm up to 15 bikes here and a few more still at my brothers, some won't ever be running bikes but almost all have titles. This is when 1/2 were outside during a cleaning binge. the first 2 are my keepers along with my new to me 78 wing. My 79 GL will be listed when it's original appearing again.

Whoa! Now THAT is a "Collection"!!  :o 8)      I have tried to keep up with this, from the beginning, when Seaweb started it and never really had much space myself. But now, I have a nice size place to store and work on my motorcycles, only it was my Dad's and he was quite the collector (so to speak) of all kinds of things. I have been working, as I can, for about 3yrs now, trying to get things cleared out enough, to get to where I could start moving my things in here and STILL have a ton to do!! Soon as I can get to where I can do it, I will post up some photos. Just know that Dad's Garage/Shop was a 2 car garage, that is twice the length (so, should be capable of putting 4 cars in there, easily, IF there wasn't much else in there.  ;)  Now, Dad and I had duplicate tools and equipment, of some kinds. So, I have been just comparing what he had and what I have and choosing (in most cases) which one to keep. But there is also a lot of stuff, that I have absolutely no need for and will just have to be hauled off, as I doubt anyone else would want it either. An example is, I found that, in one of several 2 door metal cabinets, was completely full of Spray cans of paint (Old paint) and we are talking about 6 shelves FULL of that stuff. Anyway, like I said, as soon as I can get to where I can, I will post up some photos. I HAVE managed to make room for 7 motorcycles 6, in the garage and 1 in the Shop area (the Shop Area is separated from the garage area, by a large 2 piece sliding door, with a "walk through" door in 1 half of the Sliding Door). Gotta get back into the Swing of Posting Photos here, as I have long since forgotten how.  ::)

I am very envious of some of your shops! Mine is an enclosed area under a sundeck. I better dress it up a bit and add some heat!

Now then, I have seen where the question was asked, If A Person Could Have Too Many Motorcycles? Now, what about the question, "Can A Person Have Too Large Of A Shop?"  ::)

Ha! Ha!, Yeah, I Know, This question, was a complete wasted of time.  :o   I mean, a Person can ALWAYS find Something to put in any empty space, right? I know I could ALWAYS stand to have More Room.  :)

Yep, I just want you all to know that you guys sh1t me, with your big fancy clean shops while I've gotta try and fit 12 motorcycles in a tiny 20' x 30' garage at my home in Melbourne and 3 more in my little garage under my apartment in Canberra. I would put up another garage, but that'd just encourage me to buy more bikes........... ;D

Terry, really?  Only 12 bikes?   to me it would be a challenge just to keep them all ready to run and insured, let alone actually ride them all.    Only 600 square feet?  Times must be tough in 'Straila.
I have three (and a half?) bikes and only one is ever ready to ride.

I think I posted a picture of my shop here in the past but I can't remember. Oh well, here's another more up to date one. I don't know how you people have more than 1 bike! I had two and felt like my first born was getting jealous!

Thanks guys, yeah I know, sometimes when I see another "bargain" I gotta look away, but geez it's hard, our SOHC4's are going for silly money here (I paid $4K for a K1 in a million bits a few months ago) but modern-ish sports/tourer bikes are as cheap as chips (I only paid $2350 for a mint Honda VFR750 a month later) so I've got a thing for later model bikes right now, but sadly, I've run out of room. I might have to rent a storage locker locally so I can store a lot of bikes and parts off site, if I can't convince the wife to let me put up another garage........... ;D

Gold! I am seriously thinking about a "mezzanine floor" to store my parts, just to get them off the floor and make room for the bikes, I've got an electric hoist that I bought years ago that might make a good "dumbwaiter", then all I need is the time to build it, and time is not, on my side........... ;D

For a short while longer, anyways. Getting started on building a new shop now.
Outgrown this one. I need more cnc equiptment, looking at getting a Swiss Lathe and a big milling center this winter, and don't have a way to get them in this building.
