it is a ht,the first was hk,had a strip speedo and very thin skinny tail lights and tacho on the console,ht and hg were essentially the same except for different grilles, the wider taller tail lights and two dial speedo/tacho dash, the hk v8 option was small block 307 and 327,ht/g you could get the new hoilden 253/308 plus tick the box for 350 small block on gts only,i had a hk when i was younger, all those old monaroes are worth a kings ransom now!

Did you guys ever get the GM big blocks like the 396ci, 427ci and 454ci?

When the HQ Holden (Dave’s car) was released Holden dealers were also selling Pontiac’s here in Oz with 455 engines, I remember staring through the window of our local dealership at the new HQ Monaro with 350 Chev V8 and a pontiac station wagon with a 455. Not sure when they stopped importing Pontiacs but they were still around in ‘72. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Thanks! The interior is panelled with 4’ X 8’ pegboard sheets I picked up at my local Auto Parts Store. They were renovating their “showroom” and had a pile stacked outside for the bin. Loaded up my trailer with about a dozen sheets!

Pontiac 455 is awesome!...but not really a big block.  It uses the same block as all the small/er pontiac v8s of the time, so its no problem to bolt it in place of a 326 or whatever
If it works good, it looks good...

Today we installed the new used back back door in the shop. We had to fix the adjustable threshold, one of the screws had to be drilled out. All told it cost $63 and I gained an outlet. 8)

A guy on the Aussie CB750 FB page was looking for a good crank for an F2. I had a chat with him and told him I had most of an F2 engine down the back of my garage that another guy had started to restore with a nice crank and new bearings, conrod bolts etc. he ended up buying the complete bottom end.

The problem was that it was in some racking at the back of my garage and in the last few years since I put it there I’d put (dumped) the remains of 3 Kawasaki H1’s, my Suzuki T350, another CB750 engine, pressure washer, wheels, BSA C11 engines etc in front of it.

Money is a great motivator though, so, like Moses parting the waves, I moved everything out of the way to make a path to the engine and hauled it out. Of course there were lots of parts missing so I then did several trips back to my stash to find everything, before I returned my garage to its previous disgusting glory…… ;D

I did! The hardest thing to find was a clutch pressure plate as 2 of the 3 I found had an ear broken off. I would have kept it for my K1 build but last week I bought an “unbreakable” one from an Aussie engineer, machined from 6061-T6 billet, complete with a new Japanese bearing for $100. (About $63 USD) I’ll put it in my K1 and give the buyer the crappy OEM plate. ;D

Nice bit of kit Terry...
John, did your wood prices go through the roof like they did in the US. Everyone doing renovations and building during the pandemic and after caused wood prices to triple or more for many things.
They came back down some but the prices are no longer inexpensive and we though wood prices were not great before all that happened! It increased the price of building houses by many 1000s of US dollars.

That is a Very good replacement for OEM;nothing like the feel of a Solid clutch.

Wood prices have been insane here, for a few years.. thank goodness I built my shop, house garage, and the “she shed” when I did. I could not afford them today!

Very true John, with 2 years to go until my tiny mortgage is paid out, I thank my lucky stars that I bought the place 23 years ago, when it was a quarter of what it’s worth now. It badly needs a full renovation, but I’ll do that as a retirement project. ;D

No kidding, life is so much calmer since we paid off the house. Now I don't get yelled at for buying bike parts or doing shop improvements. 8)

My garage full of stuff and some garbage I have not taken to the city dump yet.
We get cardboard boxes very often. Order stuff on Internet is done frequently. Not only bike related.

I have soon paid my house too. I'm happy I signed the purchase contract mid 2003.
Houses today cost more than double, triple if in good order. (Appartments even worse more than 5 times more)

I had in my mind to have the house fully paid before I retire.

The very low interest the last 5-7 years have helped. A little over 1% interest since 2019.
I could pay most of it when interest went to almost 5% 2 months ago.

Covid years without expensive holidays have helped too.
I plan to have it fully paid within 2 years. I have to spend money on bikes and rides too. ;D

As Terry's house, my house need to be refurbished. $20.000-30.000 US.

That make it easier to sell if moving to a warmer and sunnier place.
So I need to work another 4 years.

I need a new phone for better ride and garage pics too. I'm waiting for it's release in about a week.

My K2 is parked behind the debris pile on the right ;)
I plan to shovel stuff around to assemble stray parts all over the garage to another parts bike, CB750 K2-1975 as we got here.

That will be the K2 stocker.
My brown stock K2 with frame kit will get an 890cc engine. (Case prepared for billet block too)

Good K2 parts  with engine to the uncut stock frame.

Cable on floor is for 230VAC I used to my car the day before. Engine heater and inside car. 3 hours to defrost it when -20*C.[

I have washed and regreased the leathers today after that photo.

I was making those for a while.  I think I sold about 80 of them.  Not enough takers and life got crazy.  I did the 3D modeling and had a friend machine them for me.  I have one left that I'm saving for my K3 chopper, if I ever get around to building it.

Thanks.  $100 with free shipping in the US.  After paying my machinist friend, and all the Ebay and PayPal fees I only made about $32/each.  I remember shipping a lot of them to Canada.  I thought I was going to sell 1,000,000 of them.  I still get emails every now and then from people asking for them.
