Topic: Where to get OE size electrical connectors?

I need to find some replacement female bullet connectors for my bike, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding the correct size that was used on these old bikes. All I can find in the local parts stores are two sizes and they are both larger. Much Google/eBay searching has turned up nothing. I know there are a lot of folks out there restoring these classic bikes, and surely they occasionally need to make some repairs to the harness. So where are folks finding new connectors?

I noticed that the electrical connectors (where wires plug together, such as where the tail light harness plugs into the main harness) are the same as a lot of other Honda products  ...my 90 Acura Legend uses the same style connectors, and my friend's late 80's Civic has the same connectors. Perhaps you should check out an auto wrecking yard for wiring connectors in older Civics. Might solve your problem.

I got two kits from vintage connection listed above. Both are very well packaged/sorted and come in nifty trays. I have used about 1/2 of both kits while working on undoing all the PO shoddy work. I solder the wire into the connectors then crimp them. Also if your going to replace any of the block style connectors get their little 4 way fork to depress the tabs holding the connector in the blocks. Very useful. I am happy with my choice.

Thanks for the link! That's exactly what I need. I figured that if there was one place to find this info, this would be it, and you guys didn't let me down. Now I just need to figure out whether it is the 3.5 or 4mm size I need. This is for an 80 XL500 I'm trying to fix up. Luckily the wiring on my old 550 is still in unmolested condition. I wish I'd known about those folks a long time ago! They got a lot of useful wiring parts there. I will certainly be getting one those disconnect tools. There's been many times I could have used that in the past. Maybe this info should be in the electrical FAQ? I know that's the first place I looked.

Shoot, I did not see that site before.  I ended up getting an assortment in a case from Yamiya.com  They are just like the OEM bullets and cost was $15 I think.

I can't find Yamiya.com.... Does anybody know how you measure these connectors for size? I can't figure it out if you go by the largest diameter or the smallest.

Yah, they changed something.  Try www.yamiya750e.com  I think the e means English version.

+1 on the Vintage Connectors. They're inexpensive and have good service.
