Help finding links for a Plymouth Voyager '85 motor head
« on: August 24, 2008, 08:38:47 AM »
Hi all.

A Friend of mine,  (my mechanic as a matter of fact..) desperately needs a new head for his Plymouth Voyager model 1985.

It originally came with a Mitsubishi 2.6L .

I am unsure what is the right term to use when searching a complete head with valves cams etc.

So, please write me the right quote I should Google.

Any usefull links will also be appreciated ;D ;D

voyager 2.6 head

I had an 87 Caravan with that same motor - a very good van.  We sold it with about 137K on it, and it still ran like a champ!

I think a local salvage yard could help, too.  After all, even though it's pretty old, they DID sell a zillion of 'em.

Would this help, http://boise.craigslist.org/pts/753526934.html It is for an engine in a Ram50 Pickup, but should be the same, shouldn't it?

Was gonna add that the Mitsubishi mini truck/Dodge Ram 50 used the same engine. So did the Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest.

Googled ' aftermarket cylinder head ' and these guys pop up......

http://www.headsonly.com/chrysler.htm lots of others too but their name said 'International'. ;) :D

I wouldn't bother with a used one in your friend's situation. Good ones are quite rare - as are junkyards that will pull a good head off of a running engine.

Good luck.
