Hello from Minnesota
« on: August 25, 2008, 08:21:49 PM »
Hello,
I just got this '75 CB550 a couple weeks ago. The bike has 12,000 miles and it seems to be stock except for the rack and seat. The only thing I'd like to change on the bike is to find an original seat. I've already found quite a bit of useful info on the forum so far and look forward to learning more about these classic bikes. I'm assuming since my bike was born the year before I was that I'll need some tips from time to time. One question I have so far is, what type of oil seems to work best in these motorcycles?

Thanks

And I think it was just yesterday that I asked a new member, "You don't want the K/Q seat?" ;-) Welcome to the forums.

I'm fairly tall and it seems like a standard seat would allow me to sit back a little further. This king/queen seat kind of limits where I can sit. It's not a huge deal though.

It's just that I'm not fond of the K/Q's, and many members, myself included, trashed the K/Q first after buying the bike. I just think it's funny. Previous Owners versus New Owners.
