We just bought a '75 CB 750
It's going to be my son's first streetbike, he's 19 and didn't want one of the newer cruisers or rice rockets...this one will get somewhat restored, (although we are not purists, the previous owner's hi-rise handlebars, twisted railroad spike hiway pegs and sissy-bar need to go....the Kerker exhaust can stay.)
I'm glad I found this forum, as we have a few things to do to this bike. We do have other bikes, mostly dirtbikes, and we do all of our own work on them.
We have a 94 XR200, an 81 xr500r (with a bunch of backwoods mods that I've done to the frame and suspension), a 73 sl125 and my streetbike, a '73 shovel in a rigid frame....(I'm not a "biker" wannabe with a phony bad attitude...I just like old Harleys too
)
We have a pretty complete 74 CB750 with a locked up top end that will be a good parts bike as well. I also recently scored a 71 Honda "Motosport" 250 from a friend of mine, that one will be fun for the whole family.
We should have that one next week sometime.
I own an automotive fab shop in Gilroy, where I build and work on street rods,(some motorcycle work as well) as well as do custom machine work, metal work and welding. I do welding and fabrication type repairs for a few of the vintage dirtbike guys too. (I'm not advertising, just giving my background)
I am a member of a few other forums, I spend a fair amount of time on hotrodders.com, where I am also a moderator. (my screen name there is powerrodsmike)
I look forward to learning about our new 750 four as we have always liked these bikes, my dad had a '76 550 supersport that I loved to ride as a kid.
See you in the forums,
later, mikey
