Been looking at the news about the hurricane heading towards Texas and other southern states. Hope all the forum members living in that area are ok.

Steph (tsflstb) hasn't been on for a few days, hope he's OK
It was headed straight for him and the last I heard before going off line Friday morning was he was trying to unload his Moto GP tickets to stay with his family. I hope he came through it OK.

I'm doing Ok.  Had some big wind and rain - debris everywhere - uprooted a few 50' pine trees.  Damage to the house, but nothing compared to what some folks are going through.  No electricity for at least two weeks, so we're with relatives now.  We'll be fine.  Places on the coast were destroyed.  Still trying to reach some friends down there.  Hope everybody else made it through.

Stephen

I just got power and internet back yesterday.
We made it through without a scratch but I can't
say that for many neighbors. One fellow just a block
down parked his family's 5 new SUVs on the lawn hoping
to keep them above any flooding. All 5 were taken out when
one very large tree fell across them.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.

...Baton Rouge is just starting to get back to normal.  Lots of down trees...and a few smashed homes.  Over half the city was without power for about a week.  ::)

Glad you didn't get more than you got Mark!

I heard Ike slapped some small hurricane out of the way on it's way into the gulf,
I think her name was Tina.  ;D ;D

Back up and running now.  Power, internet, even my tv dish is working.  We had a solid 8 hours of wind and rain like I'd never seen.  We really were lucky.  I've just got a few needed repairs and I'll get to play lumberjack on the weekends for a while.  I hope everybody else is getting back on their feet.
