I know these guys are in the 'States but they have lights you may be interested in.

Are those Benji pipes?  I always wondered if they might clear a stand, your pics answered my question.  As for a model A type light, check this out:

http://www.motor34vintagecarparts.com/servlet/the-136/FORD-MODEL-A-chopper/Detail

Reasonable price, 40$, and the best part is, they have it with or without a cutout for the license plate to be lit!

It's a Giuliari seat. They were an aftermarket part when our bikes were still fashionable ;)

You still find one every now and then on Ebay, especially in Germany.

@ Ecosse & Broshi:
That's the light I meant! And they are cheap too. I'm used to paying shipping now, half the bike came from the US. I even got some parts from Japan  ;D

The pipes don't clear the sidestand on most 550's. You have to cut it iff and reweld it (haven't done that yet either as I can't weld)

here's how it looks with the Model-A tail llight, although I'm not sure if the size is correct..

A member here, nippon, sells what looks like very good quality reproductions for 750, with 500/550 in the works.

Check him out; he might be on the eBay/ SOHC member cross reference list.

Hey... william288 is me! And I'm not sellin' seats.  ;)

This is nippon's eBay page with seats offered and some other stuff.

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/merchant/classiccyclecity_com_W0QQ_ipgZ25

I checked and nippon's name isn't listed. But here is his post:

So, I'm confused... did you end up getting the rear light you wanted or is the pic from the last page a mock up?

Again, it's a looker!

That's a mock up I made in Photoshop ;)

I do plan on ordering one of those if can't find one here. Thanks for the link.

Whoa!  I didn't know those Guliari seats for the 750s were also made for 550s!  Check this out.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270288443342

Sorry if you're bidding and I let the cat outta the bag.

I messaged the seller about it and they responded:

Hi. Thanks for your interest. Yes, the CB500/550 Giuliari seats are exceedingly difficult to find. Because of that, we are actually in the process of creating a version for your bike, but the final adjustments aren't yet completed. If you feel adventurous, we can sell you all the components for you to assemble the seat yourself. The large hinge is finished in stainless steel, so you'll have to position the hinge, drill two holes for the hinge plate, another two holes for the seat lock, and fit distance rubbers to support the weight of the rider. Or you can wait for us to release the new seat, which we should be able to do in a few weeks. It should be about the same price as our current CB750 reproduction seat. You can also reach us at info at classicclyclecity dot com, since eBay won't allow us to contact you after I send this email. Thanks. CCC

He had or has an original 500 seat at auction but I'm holding out for his reproduction. Don't really have the bread just now so I hope he takes his time or makes a bunch... I'll certainly buy though!

After much fiddling with the carbs I could finally make my first testride. Still a lot off jetting to do later, but the bike runs good enough to drive.
She makes a bit more camchain noise than I would like, but i'm hoping when I have the carbs dailed in properly it will get better.

ieism, I really dig the tach only look.  Did you mount the single gauge yourself or pick up an aftermarket mount?

Where'd you pick up the marker lights, might I ask?  Looks absolutely beautiful....

I made a bracket for the tach out of aluminum, it was pretty easy.

The indicator lights are Kellerman, i'm sure you can find them on the internet somewhere. They are not cheap though, and you need to modify the wiring to fit LED blinkers or they won't blink.

Looking really nice! Black fender is a nice touch, Benji's parts are classy. The tach looks like an Auto Meter and the white face is perfect. Funny, because I tend to think white/ or light face gauges are way over done... here it seems to belong.

Sorry for my thick headedness if you already said so but could you mention your tank? I'll look again meanwhile.

Long Live the 550!
