Hello from Asheville, North Carolina!
« on: August 31, 2008, 12:01:11 PM »
Hey fellas! I was recommended to this forum by a fellow from caferacer.net and I'll have to say after reading a few of the posts I am quite intrigued. I have two bikes. I have a 1975 Honda CL360 as well as a 1978 Honda CB750 which Is in pieces and I am rebuilding! I live in the beautiful mountains of Asheville, NC. Love vintage bikes and rock and roll. I'm having some issues with the 360, maybe a few of you guys can help me out. Rebuilt the carbs once already. Got a sticking throttle going on, fouled plugs (dark and carbon) quite a few backfires out of the carb, I turned the mixture screws out to factory spec. I think I need to get them tuned. But even before I took the carbs off and cleaned them, the throttle was still sticking. It would do it when I was downshifting and it would stick at about 4000 and I would have to ride the idle screw until it calmed down then quickly crank the idle screw back up so it would not stall. Anyway, I will carry this idea over into one of the other forums since this is the intro forum!
Cheers!

Welcome Hamburg.

Sounds like you have a few issues with that 360's throttle. I know this is very simplistic but have you looked at the cable and it's routeing, anyway I wish you luck with that. There are loads of people here who can and will want to help you with that.

Don't forget to post photo's, everyone here likes to see photo's.

Cheers

Check out this link. This gentleman lives 10 miles north of Asheville. He has his own shop for vintage bikes. He is big into customer participation. I'm sure he could show you or answer and questions. http://asheville.craigslist.org/mcy/823485866.html

Hey,

Just moved in to Asheville a few months back and I have a CB750 F 1976 that I'm just ironing out the last few things on to get it finished as a cafe racer.  I'm using pods so guess what I need to iron out....   ::)  Shoot me a pm if you're still on here.  I'm learning still about bikes, but have been working on cars for quite a long time.  Always willing to lend a hand though.
