Hello from Oakville, Ontario (Canada)
« on: August 28, 2008, 10:49:58 AM »
Hey everyone,

I've recently bought a 1976 CB550 from a friend.

He took it apart about a year ago, so I have the task of piecing it back together and working out the bugs. I gotta say I don't mind because I'm learning LOTS and could not have done it without this community. The FAQs, help, and knowledge here is amazing. AND I've come to realize that it is perfectly ok to love the bike... stare at it for minutes at a time... and curse when it isn't running properly.

So far I have designed new gauge faces, tank badges, and ordered a halogen headlight conversion. Am gonna try to modernize it a little bit without taking away from the classic that this bike is.

Thanks for all the help so far. I hope I can give back to others as I learn more about these great bikes.

Hello to all. Thanks for the compliments on the gauges, took FOREVER lol. They are printed on a vinyl cutter printer that is used for signs and billboards so should last under the glass. I have yet to install them, but am stoked to do it. Just need a few days of rain to justify ripping the gauges apart, and my carbs from messing with my spare time.  Here is a pic of the tank badges installed though... that was the easy part.  :) That's my buddy's CB500 in the background

Am slowly cleaning and shining that bike up!
