CB750 K0 throttle friction spring
« on: August 31, 2008, 04:45:58 PM »
Inside the twistgrip of the CB750 K0 is a spring device intended to stop the throttle closing when let go. There is a screw underneath to press n the sring plate.

How is the spring held in place? Is there supposed to be a hole in it for the screw to go in?

Mine keeps moving out of place.

thanks

David

The micro fiche isn't too clear, but I think there's a hole in the spring.

She's runnin' fine...I do believe that 100mph all day claim is feasible..No oil leaks, just a few strange noises now & then. But she really wants to go.

I make a few strange noises now and then too David. Good to hear she's running well with no oil burning. ;)

I checked with my dealer and the parts numbers are no longer around.  I believe you would tighten the screw and it would tighten a rubbing block on the underside of the throttle sleeve.  It would sort of take some of the tension off the spring so it was not so hard to hold speed.

Which brings me to another newb question;
Why is the throttle spring so darned stiff? (CB750K2)

And no oil leaks around the valve cover....
