1978 CB550K--- Electrical(coils)
« on: September 01, 2008, 07:27:31 PM »
I've got the carbs clean and adjusted, points and condensers changed, fresh plugs and pulled the plugs to check I have spark...#2 and #3 are not sparking. How do I check the coil,I have a multimeter but I'm not sure what value to check, resistance? conductivity?
I have a Clymers manual which is a little short on info.
I also need to confirm that my leads were connected right, this is the 3 P.O.bike from hell and they got their pointy little heads into everything,if it wasn't broken they tried to fix it :)
Sitting on the bike the cylinders are numbered 1 2 3 4 left to right...correct?
Cylinder 1+4 fire together 2+3 fire together..right so far?
The left coil fires cylinders 1+4? and the left coil fires 1+3 also correct?
thanks
