Spent most of yesterday with a friend doing a full service on the 400.  Took the long way home along the river.

I am spending this week by the pool/hot tub, and golf-carting up to the ocean.  Doesn't sound like Virginia, does it.  That's cause I'm in Duck NC!

Yeah- what's up?

Well, to fill out;
Chris lives outside of town.  One of the things remark on here is how everything is so green all summer.  He wears over-alls he buys at Goodwill and doesn't care about putting rags with gook in his pockets.  he has tanks and exhaust pipes hanging all over the place and a row of smaller bikes lined up along one wall.  I don't know how he does it, but the place is very clean.  He even has an old Indian-style rug on the floor where he stands a lot.  He has a degree in something like philosophy and used to reach at some univerity or college somewhere but just decided to drop out.  Skinny guy with really thick grey hair.
So, we listen to Tom Waits as he putters around and I double check some things while we chit-chat.  We discuss what kind of oil to use in the forks because the manual just says to use ATF and I figure 15 weight, blah blah blah.  He just got a row of dials that he plugs into the engine with 4 tubes.  Cool stuff.
Leaving, i have to go down a gravel road that drives me nuts.  I'm not a dirt boy and have to remind myself to use the rear brake.  Back on the road, most of it is covered with tree branches.  Sort of like a tunnel with bits of sun coming through.  Across the bridge and turn right for home.
I'm running pods, but not really winding it out- what Brit folks call a Bimble I think.  The bike is sort of whirring with a little bit of growl in the background.  I think it's cute, but I've given up pretending to be manly by now anyhoo.
The river got real low, but we had a couple of days of rain and it's up and moving.  You can smell vegetation.  Some dead things.  It's a cool "smell".
The trees open up to show open blue sky and clouds, then close up again.  I only pass the occasional small building here and there.  There constant lefts and rights that feel kind of swoopy and pleasant.
Another bridge and I'm into neighborhoods.  The road winds tightly and then opens up to pasture again with only the occasional tree.  Dump onto the highway, and home in 10.

So- what are you sticking your tongue out at?  Too much politicking?
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

I had a good weekend...all week actually.

Took the family camping for a few days (Presquille Provincial park) and after we got home we unloaded and reloaded to head off to a buddy's cottage near Gooderham. Hung out there for a few days and drank and ate way too much. Even went water skiing for the first time in years. Got up on the second try (would have been the first but I REFUSE to get up on two skis since I was about 10 years old and I am far to stubborn to go back there). Of course I am now paying the price...sun burnt and sore as hell from using muscles I forgot existed 5 years ago!

No, imperious decrees instigated by anonymous whiners that stifle opinion are offensive. That no one else seems to have noticed makes me wonder.   So fire me. :P

Man I hate anonymous whiners! Onymous whiners, on the other hand, are welcome, and should be respected for their onymous views, whether I personally agree with them or or not.

I've been waiting with baited breath (well at least, breath that smells like bait) for the beeeoootiful rare and desirous Borrani WM3 19inch front rim and Buchanans spokes that Ron (MCRider1) sent me out for my K1 "Power Kruiser". (thanks Ron, you are the man!)

On Tuesday morning it arrived intact, via good ol' USPS, and I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can attempt my first wheel lacing job, and lace it up to a front hub I have, once I cut the spokes off the "flat spotted" OEM steel rim that it's currently fitted to.

On top of that, the weather looks promising, so I might actually get the beast out for a ride, (once I correctly adjust the ignition timing on the Dyna S, thanks to Gordon) and see if I can better it's previous record of 120 MPH @11000 RPM in 3rd gear, woo-hoo! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I went riding with my neighbor on Monday. He rides about a 3 miles a week since he claims his back kills him. Earlier in the week we went to get our bikes inspected and we took a longer ride. He called me out of the blue and wanted to go riding. I took him on my favorite ride along this mountain range nearby. He is a changed man.

G'Day Sammy, I just got an email from Sean saying he'd chucked a rod thru the block, but I don't know the circumstances? Is there a thread I've missed? I'm running some nice RC rods that Hondaman sent me (another "Top Bloke") so I'm hoping they'll keep my engine together............. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Typical bloody Pom, you've got "Screw it till it screams" in your signature line, and when someone actually does, you go crook at them!

Your signature line should read, "Screw it til it murmurs, then shut it off and have a cup of tea and a little lie down"..................  :P ;D
