Hey everyone.  I will be picking up a 1978 CB750 with 21,000 miles this Friday.  It'll be my second bike, I'm currently on an '82 Kawasaki KZ440.  Once the deal was closed, my next immediate thought was "better find the forum and learn everything I can about these awesome bikes!"

A bit about myself, I'm 23, M, in school working on a 2 year auto mechanics degree, and work at a car dealership.

You've come to the right place Jaws, welcome to the club.

That seems like a rather low mileage 750.....good score!  8)

I couldn't wait till Friday, got the bike today.  Had a 15 mile ride home, very nice.  It has a luggage rack, sissy bar, tow bar, crash bars w/highway pegs and this horrible windjammer fairing with a stereo in it.  I guess having a stereo on your bike is cool but it looks like crap.  Someone really wanted my poor 750 to be a luxury touring bike :-(.  It seems like the original headlight bucket and supports are gone.  I'm going to start removing the unnecessary parts ASAP but seems like a long road to recovery right now.

I originally wanted to build a cafe racer, but after riding a friends crotch rocket I decided I'm going to restore it as nicely as I can with a few custom touches and enjoy it as a sporty jap muscle bike kinda cruiser.  Maybe 836cc's in my future, after I'm out of school.

Hope I can find the missing headlight parts.

You've done well with such a low mileage, that bikes barely ran in!!

Nice one.

I should have parts rolling in soon.  Ordered the shop manual, brake pads and shoes, and 2 new side covers.  Soon I'll get some black 4 into 1 exhaust and the stock headlight bucket.  Here are some pics, not bad for only $750 eh?

and here's my '82 KZ440 in case you were wondering.
