got my 750 head/jugs off tonight...the base jug gasket is a #$%* to scarpe off..any tips??

I tried some carbon cleaner, I think it was from GM, that really worked well to loosen those stubborn base gaskets. I've got a favorite dedicated gasket scraper, time & lots of patience to not gouge the surface is the key.

Stripper.  Paint type, or hire a local girl to do it for you.    +1 on that scraper, you can shave that aluminum like cheese if you aren't careful.

Heh, Heh, heh. Took me a week to strip off what was left of my cylinders' gasket. Many's the evenings I could have wept in frustration. In the end it was just stripper (paint) long blade from stanley knife and patience by the barrow load. Never use the point of the knife, always draw the edge of the blade along the top at a shallow an angle as poss.

Gasket stripper and 000 steel wool worked for me.

Loctite Chisel 790 works like magic.  it contains methylene chloride so wear gloves.. Be careful of paint etc...
