Hello from SE Idaho!
« on: September 01, 2008, 10:14:54 AM »
Hi everyone! I inherited my dad's 1975 cb550. He had it parked in the garage for 24 years. I don't think he ever started it during that time, so I'm starting from scratch to get it ready to ride. It is in very good shape. A little rust in the tank etc, but I've seen lots of topics that will help me with that issue.

Thanks in advance for everyones help.

Big Al

Welcome to the forum.  I'm over here in SW Idaho.  Not too many others here from Idaho, I think.  Good luck with the bike.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome.

I was having trouble with the search feature earlier, but now it's working for me. I plan on using it a lot.

Until my gallery album is ready, here is a pic of my 550.

All I did was run the hose over it to get the dust and cobwebs off.

I don't know how much the dent in the tank bothers me. I have the paint for it, but the decals aren't something I think I want to tackle. I haven't found a source yet....but I'm sure they are available.

I'm excited to get it running. I started working on the tach dial today. I'll post some more pics in the "Tips" section.
