Rain Gear Needed

I need some rain gear, but I have no experience with it.  I see some 2 piece suits run $30 and other stuff is $200.  So what is the cheapest I can get away with?  

BTW, the jacket goes over you leather......right?

Probably not with the $30 suit.  These are typically polypropylene and don't slide real easily over leather.  Stick with denier nylon(woven).  Tougher and easier to put on.

Cleve...I use Frogg Toggs 2 piece on the Wing.  Forget the cost, but they breath real nice and do not rip.  You can even get them in regular colors or bright colors so you can be seen better in the rain.  They are a shell and not insulated so get them big enough so you can put them over a coat.

my raingear is older than i am... just like the 350f  ;D  ... was a hand-me-down from pops.

the zipper on the jacket doesn't work anymore but the button flap over the zipper still does its job.  have no idea of the make but its a blue suit.   ;D

Any brand or retail suggestions?  General ballpark on cost?

They are dirt cheap on ebay, but I think those are the polypropylene ones that "Mr. Only Half Evil" mentioned.

Your kidding, right?  I ride her in the mud too!  ;D  My truck died on me, so she is my only form of transportation until it gets too cold/snowy to ride.  Then I'll get a winter beater to coast me till spring.  Of course having the wife's car for family functions and emergency's help.  ;)

I think I paid about $25 for my basic pants and zipper top.  It is not poly, but more like Tyvek which is that white paper they wrap homes in now days.  You can not rip the stuff.  Poly would make you sweat for sure and these are not poly.  You can get other Frogg Togss for over $100 too.

Yah, those look pretty nice Cleve.  Better than the orange ones I have.  But I hardly ride the Wing in the rain, just have them in the truck in case.  I have heard good customer service from them if you have a problem.

What Johnie said, I use Frogg Toggs too. I think mine were around $60 for the jacket and pants.
They work nice and what ever size jacket you wear get the same size in the Toggs. Their made to fit over
your jacket.

I got to work at 9:45am and it started raining at 9:46am.  It's been raining all day and it's not supposed to let up until well after I get off work.  So I started surfing craigslist for rain suits.  A guy has a Pro-Action suit new in the bag for $40, and get this......he's dropping it off at my work before I close up shop!  I'll be riding home dry tonight.  ;D  Man I love craigslist!!!

Used them today, they worked great!  8)

Although I must admit, they are so thin I can't imagine them lasting long.  :-\

old military poncho for 5 bucks
fits tight around the neck and covers most of the body
