I just recently came into ownership of a '72 CB500 with 20k miles.  Its in kind of ratty shape but still manages to look gorgeous. I'm finishing up an engineering degree at NCSU and should be slaving by next May.  I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have long been interested in e30's (1984-1991 BMW 3 series).

Things done so far:
Broke front brake bleed screw -> broke off extractor -> ebayed another front brake caliper

master cylinder #$%*ed -> bought rebuild kit (on the way)

no seat -> i need a seat.

Carbs filthy -> cleaned extensively with carb cleaner and adjusted floats -> engine starts right up but idles at 3-4K RPM (adjustment screw fully closed)

Tried to adjust timing -> failed....for some reason the light i rigged up isn't working

Anyways - just some priorities...things you'll see on the board.
