converting ignition system over to electronic
« on: September 10, 2008, 12:42:13 PM »
Does anyone have information that would help me change my stock ignition system over to the electronic on.  This is pertaining to a '79 Suzuki GS 1000.  Thanks

There's a section for "Other Bikes" you might put this in rather than the open forum.

Try the Dynatek website and see if any of their electronic ignitions would work for your bike.

What Dustyc said, Dynatek I'm sure has what you need and it's a painless conversion too!

Hondaman a member here makes tranistorized ignitions many have been happy with.

The 1980 and 1981 GS1000 8 valve engines came with an excellent factory electronic ignition mate, but to convert yours you'd need to also change out the wiring harness, so you're better off just buying a Dyna S from Z1 Enterprises, they're about the cheapest and Jeff Saunders, the proprieter, is a member here.

The GS1000 is my other infatuation, I've got a 1979 GS1000S, 1980 GS1000E, and 1981 GS1000S as well as a couple of parts bikes, they are a fantastic bike, and are well catered for at "The GS Resources" website, my GSR user ID is "Terry". ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
