Just had to let you know. Have bought myself a complete, original, MARTIN monoshocked frame '78 F2. As soon as possible will post some pic's. After some decent colors he's ready to be assembled.

Allright here is the first one:

Bike has been taken apart by previous owner. Bike is complete, F2 engine with overhauled head.
Tank, seat, fairing, wheels, brakes, it's all there. Extra tank and Kawa seat, see pic. Awful colors. But hey, got to have something that keeps me off the street.

That's gonna be a really cool little road-rat, can't wait to see it with the engine in as the frame looks way too small for a stonking great 750 motor.

Of course these frames are becoming more rare as time goes by. There where about 5000 or so build, for mostly the Jap's to replace the OEM frames of the period. There are still some around, think most of them in the land of origin France. Georges Martin, the founder, has recently returned to building frames and parts. IMHO it is one of the nicer looking chrome moly frames, with very nice brazing. Most of them where chromed. Mine will be black.

Yes, he is back and returned to building frames and selling parts.
Axl (Satanic Mechanic) and me, we met him at the BikersClassics in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium this year,
so I had to take a shot with my camera.
Nice guy, and I really like his frame for the CB750, too.

And I'm pretty sure, I will meet you there next year, too. (hope so).

Hope meeting you too, in Spa, Dijon or somewhere else. When I was at tha Classic Bol d'or Georges Martin was there also with his stand. Always nice to see people return to their roots, isn't it? Maybe next year I can bring my Martin with me.

My VTR has large pink bits - I prefer to call it Magenta, gets less abuse in the pub then!

Well had a day off today that I used to take a good look at my new purchase. Sorted out the stuff that came with it. Removed the, Brembo, brakes too clean and service them. Put in my new to be build lower casings to measure up some dimensions and to get a 'feel' for the bike. Took some pic's, love the excentric chain adjustment, though not the most advanced because you tend to change the geometry of the swing when adjusting the chainslack.

The longer I look at the frame the more I love it, it is bronze welded and you can see that who ever welded it was a pro!! Beautiful!! Shame that it has been blasted and painted.

Very cool! The "pink" frame is very reminiscent of an early 80's BMW Krauser!! I have a Magni BMW and am also looking for a Rickman Honda to add to the stable!
