New and Old Project pics.
« on: July 12, 2008, 10:02:36 AM »
I picked up a parts bike on tuesday for $150. its a real pile but it has a titled frame. i toke some goodies off it and gave the frame/motor to a friend so he can build a bike, he's always wanted to. here's a couple of pics, dont forget to check out the sissy bar and headlights its quite funny looking. the red frame is my cafe to be.

Love the extended forks, not sure I'd do that to a CB750 though, way too much power for a chopper, better to use one of those sissy Harley motors. ;D
Always amazes me that Honda put a kickstarter on 750's but not 650's?
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

those extended forks are going bye-bye. if anyone wants them i'll swap them for a set of standard length. i think they're +8 inch forks, maybe +10. the guy i bought it from parked it because of a head gasket leak after the motor was rebuilt. i bet it was leaking considering it had a broken stud and no o-rings between the head and cylinders. :o
he didn't get far because there are still visable cross hatching in the cylinders and the pistons look brand new.

thanks, i couldn't deside what color i wanted to paint it. i painted my 360t black but i wished i had done it differently. so since i couldn't deside i took the advice of a bartender, "when in doubt, make it red".

here's an update. the red one is mine. i call her trixie. the black one belongs to my friend mark. he calls her natasha. check out his oil tank, very cool idea.  he finished wiring it today. mine runs! anyone who has bought a basket case knows how i feel. anyone can rebuild a running bike; okay not "anyone", but you get where i'm going with this. its a diffeent feeling when you've never heard the bike, and then hear it roar over.
