My somewhat local American Iron Horse is doing just fine. Mark Long's American Iron Horse in Fredricksburg VA is still pumping out custom over the top choppers, well built and painted, but just not my thing. They hosted a great Hot Rod show there just yesterday in association with Razor Custom Paint and the VA Karb Kings that I attended. They denied me registering my CB for the show since it was post 1969, but they had a 1979 Yamaha XS 650 chop in the show, and last year my buddy Jimmy won with his 72 BSA chop, lame.... I guess your bike can still be in regardless of vintage if it is impractical or unrideable (Jimmy's bike still has less then 10 miles on it after over a year 'cause it just don't work) while a cool 50's-60's cafe style bike that was actually ridden to the show can't.
I guess it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things since many folks dug the bike and I got a lot of compliments. I also met a crew of other guys who rode up 3+ hours from Norfolk on there bobbed chopped and otherwise custom CB's who also got relegated to the stepchild lot with there really cool rides.
