74 CB550 Gauges on a 76 CB550
« on: September 13, 2008, 07:55:52 PM »
I just found a set of 74 gauges from a CB550... will these work on my 76 CB550F? a.k.a. do they have the same speedo and tach ratio and set up? Are they the same size? (I know that the 73's were smaller diameter) Thanks for the wisdom  :)

Well... I bought it anyways and will see if it works for me. It was a good deal anyway. If not... I'll post it here in about a week or so  ;)

they will work ok, only difference is face colour and maybe position of trip knob----some come out the sideand some out the back meaning the chrome cups are different but if you have those as well its no probs

Thanks for the reply. Yup the only difference seemed that the trip knob thingy is on the side as opposed to the back. I figure for $40 what the heck.... I've designed new faces so will pop those in and not tinker with my original ones. But I now have a bigger thing to worry about. Bike is running like crap. Gauges will have to wait. Thanks again for the reply.  :)
