Carb Size
« on: September 11, 2008, 07:53:13 PM »
What size carbs do I have on my 70 cb450.  I'm looking for some stand alone air filters and I don't know what size to look for.  Also, how hard is it to change controls on the bars.  What have you guys done.  I just took my bars off and a few of the connections were pretty bad.  Is there any good alternatives to this.  I'm stripping down the bike quite a bit and could probably do without some of the extra controls.  Any idea's

I don't know what size carbs you have but if you measure the airhorns (inlets) on your carbs you'll have the size you need.

I just measured mine tonight (From my '72) They actually measure out at 50mm... but if you are getting something with a rubber mount... like these from CRC2 then order the 48mm. Good luck.

Woody -

The Uni "sock" types that work for 350 twins will also work on 450's.

Uni NU-4001 is the type, they're easy to find, about $25 per pair.
